Nine Uses for an ExBoyfriend Sarra Manning 9780552163286 Books
I read this book for one reason only. I read Sarra Mannings,"You Don't Have to Tell Me You Love Me." I loved that book. I have to say it's on the top of my list of best books I've read. So, I decided to give this book a try. I truly hated the main character. She upset me so much. Her boyfriend of many years is cheating on her, with her best friend. Instead of her being furious and dumping him for good, she continuously takes him back. He tells her flat out that he cannot get her best friend out of his system. Instead of her telling him to take a hike, she convinces him to keep trying to save their relationship. It's to the point where I feel she's begging him. Does she not have any dignity of self worth? This continues throughout the book, and its totally disturbing. At this day and age a woman doesn't need a man like that. Then, the ending is the icing on the cake. Instead of her getting her happy ending, it's him and that traitor of a friend. And their still in her life gloating in their happiness. Everything she ever wanted is given to her cheating boyfriend and best friend. I TRULY hate this character. If you want to read this book, go for it. But it will upset you. This is a stupid girl. Instead read you don't have to tell me you love me. Now that's worth reading.Tags : ,Sarra Manning,Nine Uses for an Ex-Boyfriend,Corgi Books,0552163287
Nine Uses for an ExBoyfriend Sarra Manning 9780552163286 Books Reviews
I was so engrossed in this story, I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the next character from Skirt Magazine!
Terrible. Drags on and on and on and on. Waste of money. One of the worst books I've ever read
This book is beautifully written i.e. I did not have to shout at it for being shallow or lacking in proper syntax. The characters were what I might expect for a 'chic lit' novel and the plot was carefully formed. I really have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and admired the author for taking us a step up in the genre.
The book is really really well written, I felt in my gut all the pain and everything, it got me glued to the book.
The carachters were very real, what kept me going despite the felling that something was missing...
like, self esteem sometimes!
But in the end, when I was hopping to get it all, it just felt like Sarra Manning got bored and went through the fast lane. I was a little bit disappointed, it had everything going to be awesome and then it wasn't.
Great!!
This book was horrible. I never had to force myself to finish a novel before but this was a true challenge to get to the end. I abhor cheaters and the fact that this novel tries to make it out that the main character is to blame for her boyfriend cheating pissed me off more than you can imagine. I kept expecting her to grow a backbone and some self respect but it never happened. I wish I had never bought this. Waste of time and money.
Through the excruciating length it took to get to the meat of Hope`s character, the nine uses were never part of the book. Unless there were cryptic encoding somewhere that missed. The book could have been two hundred pages and still have gotten the main points across with what was "explained" in more skipped pages. I was very disappointed compared to two other books I read from this author.
